Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ:NDSN) fell 4.30% to $55.34 after it posted lower-than-expected quarterly earnings, mainly hurt by charges For the first quarter, the company forecast earnings of 61 cents to 71 cents a share, including special items. It also forecast sales to increase in the range of 13 percent to 17 percent from a year ago. Analysts on average were expecting earnings of 59 cents a share, before items, on revenue of $199 million, according to Thomson Reuters For the latest fourth quarter, the company reported a loss of $209 million, or $6.22 a share, compared with earnings of $30.7 million, or 90 cents a share, in the year-ago period.
Paychex, Inc. (NASDAQ:PAYX) reports Q2 EPS of $0.35, higher than the analyst estimate of $0.33. Revenue for the quarter was $496.6 million, which compares to the estimate of $496.39 million.
